"Graduation was great! One of the speakers made a comment saying, 'For some of you, you will be the first to graduate from your family.' That was me! I almost started to cry.
"Not too many people around here are in the situation I have been in -- in and out of so many homes, and with God's grace i was still able to come this far. It was a great feeling walking across the stage knowing that I have worked so hard to make to this point. Nobody thought it was a big deal because it was just an Associate's Degree, but no one knows the things I have been through and the road I was headed down a few years prior to starting college.
"Now I just have to hope for the best and finish at Towson. I am scared to death but I think I can learn the way of life on college campus. Thank you for wishing me the best and thinking of me!! I did it!!"
-Niki, class of 2008
"Not only did OFA as an organization change my life, but the individuals at the organization really cared for me and helped me succeed way beyond just offering monetary help! I am so thankful for the relationships that I have because of OFA!"
- Kimberly, Northeastern University graduate student, 2008

Freddie Mac Foundation
"The Freddie Mac Foundation is sponsored by Freddie Mac, our corporation. We work together on events such as supporting the Orphan Foundation of America's Care Package program. Our corporate entity allows employees to take some time away from their jobs to participate in this volunteer activity. Our Foundation funds the event by providing items for the care packages. So it is very much a teaming effort between the Corporation and the Foundation.
"When we conduct surveys on employee engagement, often the most positive message we receive is in response to the fact that the Corporation allows them to take time to go and do these volunteer activities. It creates a tremendous amount of good will, and is one of the things they love about coming to work at this company."
